Dance of the Red Death (Masque of the Red Death #2) by Bethany Griffin

Summary:

Bethany Griffin continues the journey of Araby Worth in Dance of the Red Death—the sequel to her teen novel Masque of the Red Death.

In Dance of the Red Death, Araby’s world is in shambles—betrayal, death, disease, and evil forces surround her. She has no one to trust. But she finds herself and discovers that she will fight for the people she loves, and for her city.

Her revenge will take place at the menacing masked ball, though it could destroy her and everyone she loves…or it could turn her into a hero.

With a nod to Edgar Allan Poe, Bethany Griffin concludes her tragic and mysterious Red Death series with a heroine that young adult readers will never forget.

My review:

I am a huge fan of Edgar Allan Poe so when I heard of Masque of the Red Death I had to read it and I fell in love with the characters and the way Griffin told the story. Dance of the Red Death is a little weaker than its first book but it is still a great read. I loved the action, the ambient, the way Araby slowly matures into an independent woman, I loved how devious Elliot is and I loved how Will never gave up. I cried at the end of the book, when you read it you will see what I mean. I wanted Araby to be with Elliot ever since Will betrayed her in Masque of the Red Death, I knew she could never trust him, but he is unpredictable and fun and smart and I felt like he needed her more than Will who redeems himself. In the book that is full of death on every corner, these people wont give up on the city and they do everything they could do save it. I love how the book ended, choices were made, and even though I didnt like some of them, they do make sense in the end.
